Through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum season, Akaila provides family-centered, evidence-informed support while also working to strengthen the systems that surround parents beyond the hospital setting. Her work is rooted in the belief that sustainable maternal health requires more than clinical care—it requires community, education, and shared responsibility.
As the founder of Sincerely, The Village Doula and The Village Baby Pantry, Akaila bridges direct care with advocacy, education, and community programming. She supports families across Medicaid and private-pay pathways, partners with local organizations, and creates spaces that intentionally include fathers, birth partners, and extended support networks in the perinatal journey.
Akaila’s approach honors the emotional, practical, and relational needs of families, with a particular focus on postpartum support, maternal mental health, and rebuilding village-based care. Through direct service, community initiatives, and speaking engagements, she is committed to advancing equitable, family-centered maternal health across the region
